At LAO Publishing, we coach storytellers through the writing process. We offer editorial reviews centered on structure and creative development. Our focus is on strengthening your manuscript’s narrative integrity and overall readability. 

The fun stuff you learned in school is just as important; the grammar, the punctuation, vocabulary. That's why we can also offer direction to make sure your book looks clean and professional.

As an author and story writing mentor, Leigh-Ann brings compassion and the tools to help you move forward with your (very, very rough) draft.

Free Consultation

Meet with us for a 30-minute consultation (virtual or in-person) to explore your goals and choose the right path. After that, you either say - meh. I can do this alone. Or, you  can select a coaching package that fits your needs. Also, coffee's on us if we meet in person! 

$129 CAD - Story Mentoring

This package includes a focused one-hour, 1:1 mentoring session (virtual or in‑person) to support story development, address writing challenges, or just answer questions.

Sessions can be scheduled individually or on a recurring basis for ongoing accountability. You determine the structure that works best for you. Think of it as a "pay as you go" option.

We meet you at any stage of your project, whether you have a few lines drafted or several chapters completed. When appropriate, the package also includes a follow‑up review of your work (up to 3,000 words) and critique to maintain momentum.

Full Manuscript Review

$799 CAD

Covers manuscripts up to 35,000 words. Overage rate: $0.03 per word beyond 35,000.

You finished your draft on your own. Now you’re ready for feedback. You’ve poured your heart into it, and it’s finally time for… critique.

We love that for you.

This package is for writers ready to step into meaningful revision and level up their book. It provides feedback that’s honest, constructive, and always respectful of your story. Whether you’re planning to self‑publish or pitch to traditional publishers.

Following the review of your manuscript, you will receive feedback on what's working and what's not landing quite well yet. You'll get insights on structure, flow, consistency, character and setting development. Because you are so close to your work, it's hard to zoom out. Because of that, we'll make sure to highlight any gaps or inconsistencies you may have missed. 

Once you’re confident in your final draft, we wave you off to the next set of professionals waiting beyond LAO Publishing. Those are your copyeditors, designers, printers, or other technical professions you wish to involve in your publishing journey. We’ll miss you, but you’ve got this.

For writers who want the full experience - support, clarity, and a team behind them - The Works is your all‑in, stress‑free path from draft to done.

You’ve already done the hardest part: you wrote the thing. Now let us manage the rest. You deserve a process that lets you stay focused on your life while we handle everything else.

This package includes the Full Manuscript Review package (above) at $799 CAD (minimum). 

From there, we assemble the full team - editors, designers, printers - and manage all the behind‑the‑scenes logistics so you don’t have to juggle a dozen moving parts.

We can also support your launch strategy. After launch, there’s no ongoing commitment required… unless you really, really want to stick around.

Think of us as the movie producers and yourself as the actor. Glam squad not included.
