At LAO Publishing, we coach storytellers through the writing process. We offer editorial reviews centered on structure and creative development.
We don't cover elements such as spelling, punctuation, or grammar. The emphasis is on strengthening the manuscript’s narrative integrity and overall readability rather than fine-tuning technical details.
As a trauma-informed author and publishing mentor, Leigh-Ann brings clarity, compassion, and tools to help you move forward. She will not let you give up. Even when it hurts and your fingers bleed.

Memoir Coaching Packages
Free Consultation
Meet with us for a 30-minute consultation (virtual or in-person) to explore your goals and choose the right path. After that, you either say - meh. I can do this alone. Or, you can select a coaching package that fits your needs. Also, coffee's on us if we meet in person!
$129 CAD - The Explorer
A focused 1:1 one-hour session (virtual or in-person) to clarify your story, unblock your writing, or answer publishing questions. Includes follow-up review of one chapter to set you off on the right path. Again, free coffee. Maybe we throw in a scone. You're welcome.
$359 CAD - The Shaper
Up to two one-hour sessions to shape your narrative, refine your voice, and build a writing rhythm. We'll create a schedule that works for you. Includes review of up to 3 chapters and feedback between sessions. You send us your draft and we critique it until it's critiqued-out.
Full Manuscript Review
$3.75 CAD per 100 words (Min. 20K words)
You’ve poured your heart into this draft. Go ahead - call it a manuscript. It's okay, you're a writer! Now you need a trusted guide to help you shape it into something powerful and publishable.
This is for who’s ready to move into a meaningful revision - with feedback that’s honest, constructive, and always respectful of your story. It includes structure and flow. Voice and style. Character (this is you!) and theme development. Clarity and impact. Reader experience. We look at all of it.
Manuscript Mentor - Most Popular!
Starting at $899 CAD
With this package, we coach you through the development of your manuscript from start to finish. Along with all the services listed in the Full Manuscript Review package, Manuscript Mentor includes up to four one-hour sessions + email support.
We'll also help you with obtaining your ISBN numbers and registering with Library and Archives Canada. We'll also provide guidance and recommendations on your next steps, such as copy editing, book design, interior design, printing, and all that other exciting stuff!
You've done the heavy lifting. Let us carry it for a while.
Memoir Workshops - Coming January 2026!
Join a small group of participants in workshops that are designed to meet your budget and pace. Here's what you can expect:
- Guided writing sessions with curated prompts
- Instructions on scene-building, voice, and flow
- One-on-one feedback tailored to your goals
- Materials such as workbooks and handouts
- Follow-up sessions (for intensive formats) to support next steps
Offered in 3 different models:
Model 1 - Four-week series
$199 CAD - Four consecutive 2-hour weekly workshops designed to keep you motivated and accountable. Great for building momentum and clarity.
Model 2 - Drop-in series
$49 CAD per session or 6 for $249 CAD - Designed for flexibility and low commitment while staying connected and inspired.
Model 3 - Intensive
$499 CAD - Designed for more intensive work over 2 consecutive full days. Great for retreats, conferences, or any other meaningful events. Perfect for small groups of 6 to 10 participants.
